Yuanzhong is a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google Brain (now Google Deepmind). His recent focus is automated parallelism and its application to large models. His work, GSPMD, has shaped the way researchers and engineers program large models at Google, and has been powering most of Google’s large models training and serving, including PaLM/PaLM2, Gemini, Parti, USM, LaMDA, Bard. He holds a PhD from UT Austin and a BS from SJTU.
